The art of Unlearning: Outcomes

We are going to wrap up our discussion this month on the “art of unlearning” by discussing how it can relate to outcomes in our life. Can we let go of these fixed ideas of what we think the future or outcomes of something should look like? This would take unlearning that the outcome of our efforts is more important that the journey to get there.

Sometimes we can get so caught in the future, we forget to be in the present moment with what is coming up. That is where the beauty of living really happens. Being in each moment with all the emotions and rawness of life. Not worrying too much on whether we accomplish was we set out to achieve or get what we really wanted… it never turns out exactly how we imagined it or if it does, we are usually on to the next thing and totally miss the achievement. I love this quote by Ram Dass-

“Our plans never turn out as tasty as reality” - Ram Dass

This is SO true. So let’s unlearn that an outcome is more important than being in this current moment.

Tune in for next month’s discussion on Being Comfortable with Stillness.

With deep love and gratitude
