Free Yourself From Fear

We all work with fear. It can look like so many things to each of us. Fear of failure, fear of losing something we have, fear of not getting what we want, fear of moving forward, fear of not moving forward… they are all valid fears. But these fears don’t always serve us. But you can take time to see what fears are arising in your everyday life and practice appreciating them for what they are and letting them go.

“Each time you stay present with fear and uncertainty, you’re letting go of the habitual way of finding security and comfort”

~Pema Chodron

Until we acknowledge our fears, they will always be running in the background dictating the show. Once we can identify our fears, then we have the capacity to release them. Let’s see if we can sit, quiet our minds this week, and allow our fears to surface. With every fear that arises, notice it. Appreciate it for guiding you to this moment and then imagine it slowly dissipating like a beautiful cloud moving with the wind. Allow your mantra this week to be, “I free myself from this fear.”

“Letting go is not the same as aversion, struggling to get rid of something. We cannot genuinely let go of what we resist. What we resist and fear secretly follows us even as we push it away. To let go of fear or trauma, we need to acknowledge just how it is. We need to feel it fully and accept that it is so. It is as it is. Letting go begins with letting be.”

~ Jack Kornfield
