Importance of Sangha
As we continue our mantra of Sangha for the month of August, the question arises… “so what’s the importance of a Sangha?” For a lot of us, we have our own practice and beliefs about the world and the lens that we look through, so what’s the big deal if we have a Sangha or not? I love this quote by Goethe, “the world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers, and cities; but to know someone here and there who thinks and feels with us, and who, though distant is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden.”
The power of a Sangha is being part of a community that is living mindfully, capable of smiling, and being unconditionally loving. This is so important in our western society that promotes individualism and independence. We aren’t alone in this journey. Sangha tells us that we are not alone in our healing journey. It’s easier to be in a healthy state of mind and body when we have witnesses to our growth on our healing path.
Tune in for next week’s discussion on how to find your Sangha.
With deep love and gratitude
